Yours, Mine, Ours;
Kathy Corbet Interiors Designs a Room to Satisfy Diverse Desires

 “Yours, mine, ours” is a scenario Kathy Corbet Interiors encounters often: she wants the formal living room, he wants the big screen TV, and the space is limited.  By using the “less is more” approach with the visibility of technology, Kathy Corbet Interiors has satisfied them both.

This media room was designed for the “Modern Traditionalist”—a family with a modern lifestyle in a home with traditional features.   The Oriental rug, dressed windows and warm colors welcome you with warmth and familiarity.  Tradition is updated and redefined with richly textured fabrics, the sleek lines of the sofa and chairs, the organic motifs of the accent furniture, the woven wood of the sideboard (that also allows storage of technology).  Kathy Corbet Interiors turned to Ted Clark of Home Cinema Central for the room’s audio and video needs.  The flat panel TV is concealed in a handsome mahogany side board with a motorized lift to raise the screen for viewing, and then neatly hide it away again when not in use.  The sound system uses revolutionary, hidden sound devices that transform the walls into speakers that deliver high quality sound.

Kathy Corbet Interiors was selected to design the media room for the 2007 Richmond Home Interiors Show.

Seven businesses contributed their time, talent and products to this multi-sensory experience.  Prosource, 89 Paint, Suitable For Framing, Lee Jofa fabrics, Home Cinema Central,  Accent Draperys and Amir Oriental Rugs.
