We like to address all aspects of a room when we work up our designs. Have you ever noticed how boring doors are? Why not make them a feature or a part of the design? Continue reading below to see some of our favorite door designs.

Installation

Here are some of our favorite door installations.

Repurposed Doors

Repurposed sliding barn door

Sliding barn door hardware allows us to easily repurpose antique doors. Real Craft is our go-to for hardware like this.

peel & stick door decor

We love making a slab door go from drab to dramatic. This urban dwelling has a custom, peel-and-stick jail cell door by eazywallz.  Very 007 Design!

Shag Rug Door Cover

I thought the fussy texture of this Chandra shag rug would be a fun way to conceal the door and add dimension to the wall. This was a tricky installation!

Grafitti Door Art

In many homes, this would be a feature, but in this kitchen, it is just one part of the decor. Silas Baker decided to color outside of the lines. He brilliantly brought some of the artwork over to the walls.

Faux Wood Door

We wanted to conceal the component closet in the theater room, so we continued the faux wood wallcovering onto the door.

Doors can reveal what to expect in the room beyond. These elegant barn doors are the perfect dramatic entrance to a basement rec room.

Inspiration

These are some of the most interesting doors we’ve seen on our travels.

Green Street in Las Vegas

I am still in awe of this pocket door and am looking forward to it inspiring an entire room design!

Double doors add to a dramatic entrance. The chevron wood pattern is the perfect setup for entering the Sagamore Spirit distillery restaurant.

Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin

We are so accustomed to basic rectangular doors.  Why not take a page from Frank Lloyd Wright’s design book and go for an odd shape?
