Walls you want to touch: part 2

Every year the “In and Out” trend lists are published. #7 on The Wall Street Journal’s “In” list caught my attention: Walls You Want To Touch. Part 1 of this blog covered a few wall textures we have installed. Part 2 covers wall textures that are on my wish list to specify. Contact me if you are game!

Textured Walls For Home

Stingray Skin for Walls

The stingray skin pattern is raised and glossy; printed on mylar  the look is luminescent.  Only Cowtan & Tout can make a quirky skin pattern a classy!

Leather Wallcoverings

Many textures and colors are available in actual leather!  We have installed the ceiling and floor panels and can’t wait to use this Eco Domo wallcovering.  A special backing is used for wall applications.

Maison Fétiche Wallpaper

Artist Caroline Basuyau is the founder of the Maison Fétiche brand. This dreamy La Danse underwater landscape is her only wallcovering. Her primary medium is silk—her scarves are beautiful. What an amazing accent wall for a bathroom!

Sequin Block Wall Panels

The Modular Arts panels are a gypsum-based product. After installing, the seams can be filled with putty and sanded smooth to look seamless. I would like to use this on a bar front with back lighting.

Leopard Wallcovering

“Pantanal” you can actually pet! The Osborne & Little leopard spots are flocked and fuzzy giving it a 3-dimensional look.

Santorus Raven Wallpaper

The siblings behind Santorus see the fashion world and interior world as intertwined. Other than their Madame Printed Leather Jacket, my favorite is this Raven wallcovering.  A wallpaper with hidden secrets, the ravens are thieves of the night adorning themselves with stolen jewels, watches and crowns!

Vahallan Handmade Papers

I have had so much fun recoloring and experimenting with Vahallan hand made papers. The installations options are infinite: tear the paper into smaller pieces and paste it together randomly for a whole new look! The Acate-Tecuri paper has such an organic look to it and I love the peacock blue peaking through in layers.

Fiberglass Waterproof Garden Wallcovering

We have installed this fiberglass waterproof wallcovering a few times but never in a shower! Wouldn’t you love to scrub away the dirt with this garden vine growing around your window, bench and storage niche? These patterns are completely customizable.

Zuber & Cie Wallpaper

The Zuber factory has been in the Alsace region in France since 1797. It is the oldest surviving wallpaper manufacturer in the world.  It still uses some of the original woodblocks to print. The scenes of the American Revolution are my favorite.
