Walls You Can Touch

Every year the interior design “In and Out” trend lists are published. Number seven on the Wall Street Journal’s “In” list caught my attention:  Walls You Want To Touch.

I have always been a big fan of texture on the wall. Part 1 of this blog will cover a few wall textures we have installed. Part 2 covers our favorite finds that we want to use in 2022.

OUR FAVORITE TEXTURED WALL INSTALLATIONS

BEADED WALL

This wall was installed by Diane Williams of Art To Di For. You may have learned about her in our Instagram takeover last year. It is a multi-layer application with gold beads.

BRICK VENEER WALL

Riverside Brick & Supply is my go-to for brick veneer like the one we used for the walls of this Irish Pub.

CORK WALL

This cork is York Wallcoverings and is backed with a teal green foil. It is a warm, earthy look for this meditative space.

EEL SKIN

Elitis of France makes some of the most incredible textured wall coverings. Let them bring out the animal in your room.

FELT WALL

Zintra offers felt in a whole range of colors. This wall was designed with Lego-inspired colors. Not only does it create a contemporary art vibe, it helps absorb sound in a wide open home.

WOOD TILE WALLS

Wood can bring an element from nature inside. Here, the square slices of walnut are at different heights to add additional texture. This one is called “Projection” and is one of many interesting wood tile designs by Jamie Beckwith. I love how it really completes the relaxing zen vibe.
