DESIGN CRUSH

The entire design team weighed in on these design themes, elements and soon to be trends. From Milan, Alcova, Salone del Mobile, and High Point, here’s what we are loving right now.

UNIQUE WINDOWS

Spotted during a home tour in Milan’s Brera district last spring, these windows stood out.

We love how the shapes and thoughtful proportions beautifully fit the mood of the room.

Dimensional Ceiling Details

This photo is from Alcova, Italy at The Villa Bagatti Valsecchi.

It’s a reminder that sometimes ceilings deserve just as much attention as walls and floors!

We loved the molding detail on the ceiling paired with a contemporary light fixture.

Deconstructed Chandeliers

All three photos below are from Salone del Mobile.

Three different vendors, all with same idea: deconstructing traditional chandelier designs. The result? A timeless look through a contemporary lens.

Bunched Coffee Tables at Different Heights

The different heights give you different options, while also creating dimension and movement.  This is a great way to fill the space in front of the sofa or sectional with something other than a rectangle.

Photo is from the Sunpan showroom at High Point market.

Brown

We love the strong appearance of brown tones.  It can ground interiors with depth and warmth.

Color Drench

Photo is from a house tour in the Brera Design District in Milan.

This is how you do it.  Lots of textures and a variety of materials in the same color range. One great accent color.

Statement Rugs

Photo is from the Jab showroom at Salone del Mobile.

We saw unique shapes and sculpting that made rugs more exciting. A standout way to add personality and artistry to a room. This is a trend that is just starting to show up on this side of the ocean.

Terrazzo Floors

Photo is from Villa Borsani in Alcova, Italy.

Terrazzo is showing up in tile.  But it just doesn’t look right.  True terrazzo is not a tile, it is a slab - ideally handcrafted.  When it’s authentic, you can feel the difference. This is how you do it.

These are the kinds of details that make a home feel intentional and timeless. Let’s create something that feels uniquely yours.

Contact us today - we’d love to talk about details like this for your project!
