Small but Mighty: Our top 10 Big Designs in Petite Spaces

Less is More, but Bolder is Better

In a small space, a bold design choice in wallpaper creates drama without overwhelming the senses.  We went with the theme of the wallpaper and added a blue concrete sink perfectly sized for the under-the stair powder room.

2. Layering Textures

Our choice of lizard skin wallpaper, metallic finishes, and mixed materials keep this powder room visually interesting.

3. No Wasted Space

Every element is intentional, making it easier to commit to a strong design vision. We went all out Asian for this little powder room.

4. Cocoon Effect

A combination of rich textures creates an intimate, inviting atmosphere rather than feeling cramped. This cozy corner had an odd mix of stone and brick.  We overcame the distraction by adding a contrasting texture with our channel tufted leather banquette.

5. Architectural Interest

The barn beams were slicing this room in all directions.  We worked them into the cabinetry by going extra deep to put some distance between the user and the beam.  In general, wainscoting, paneling, or arched doorways add character to otherwise overlooked spaces.

6. Focal Points Matter More

A striking chandelier, oversized art, or sculptural furniture becomes the star, drawing attention away from size constraints.

7. A Place For Storage

We added wire brushed and painted cabinets to a small shower room to give it a bit more interest and functionality.

8. Hallways as Galleries

Use high-impact wallpaper, artwork, or dramatic sconces to make narrow hallways feel intentional. Every surface in this drop zone has another interesting texture or sheen.  It was a bold choice but we love how they all work so well together.

9. Pattern Play

Large-scale wallpaper prints or murals make a space feel expansive rather than busy. The falling orchids and hummingbirds make this little elevator a treat to ride in!

10. Dramatic Lighting

A statement pendant or wall sconce adds depth and luxury. Not to mention the leather walls and gold leaf niche for the statue! Our clients love to come home.
